Тhe Parliament (National Assembly), President and Bulgaria's representatives in the European Parliament are elected by means of democratic national elections, by direct vote.
  • ETHNIC TOLERANCE and lack of ethnic conflicts — there has no serious ethnic conflict in Bulgaria in the last 30 years. A number of nationalities coexist peacefully in the country. The largest ethnic group are Bulgarians (85% of the population), followed by Turks (9%) and Roma (5%). There are also a number of smaller ethnic groups such as Russians, Armenians, Ukrainians, Jews, Romanians, British, and Germans.
